...Maybe that our Swedish dudes didn't take a lot of risks with this new album and maybe that it is a bit classic on a side that's right but for sure, one more time, they knew how to release an album full of good songs that will probably please all the ones who like great Power Metal. Plus, despite the similarities between the voice of Jens and Mr Hansi Kürsch nobody here can deny that he is just a great singer. "When Eden Burns" is a good album and now, I'm sure that the best will probably come for Persuader soon…..rating 8/10 read the review here

...Powerful heavy metal with much room for melodies and a singer whose voice is pretty much similar to Hansi Kürsch was nothing new or original, but the band succeeded in approaching the atmosphere of the early Blind Guardian albums and thanks to their musical and instrumental abilities, the songs were highly enjoyable. rating 81/100 read the review here

I am never bored listening to this CD, as there is always something going on here, and more than enough to keep me interested. ..ANUBIS GATE seems to focus a lot on the ’progressive’ side of Metal music. Since this sound is not a beloved one, things could start getting a little bit of ’pain in the ass’. Thankfully, "Andromeda Unchained" does not seem to be bothering at all; on the contrary, the chemistry between Fevre and Jensen (the band’s creators since the mid-80s, via multiple naming) seems solid enough for everyone’s ears. ANUBIS GATE succeeds in putting lots of melody in the complexity of their songs’ structure. Hansen’s vocals are sweet and powerful - he reminded me of a Euro Power version of James LaBrie - while the guitar work is excellent. Heavy yet mature, sharp yet ’free’, the Jensen/Olesen duo provides the listener with elegant soloing, hard-working rhythms and (most of all) the view of a thinking Metal musician.... rating 4/5 read the review here

..Sound-wise, this is not as polished as what some bands in the same genre may be producing, but personally I found the bass-heavy, rough sound to be an asset here - if this were over-polished it would probably suck, taking away some of the power of the heavier, more aggressive parts. This is a pretty varied slab of Heavy/Power Metal that might sound a little too happy for many, but those who like a good mix of Heavy and Power Metal that goes all across the board should find something to like here... rating 3,75/5 read the review here

...They rather play dark Power Metal that is often enriched by raw vocals until the Messiah voice resounds as a contrast. What the Norsemen have created here sounds damn interesting, as they boast countless catchy hooks and superb choruses.
